WERC® is proud to introduce the product of years of Dr. Cooke's clinical research in human work performance; the SmarTest™ Assessment System. With its' three different compenents or modules, The WERC® SmarTest™ System enables the work performance evaluator to test strength, body dexterity and limb coordination tolerances using proven evidentiary, criterion-based testing methods. The WERC® SmarTest™ uses embedded technology in its design so the evaluator is in control of the assessment process at all times. This low tech approach makes testing fast, easy and efficient. The evaluator has complete control of the process and best of all; test results are immediately available for printout as soon as the test is completed in an easily readable format using world-recognized MTM performance standards.
The SmarTest™ is a low tech testing tool that can meet a variety of testing needs. Through our individual modules, the SmarTest™ System can evaluate strength for lifting, carrying and material handling in an area as small as 20 square feet with the SmarTest™ ST strength module. Limb Coordination tolerances for forward and overhead reaching can be assessed with the SmarTest™ LC module and Body Dexterity for stooping, kneeling and crouching reaching can be assessed with the SmarTest™ BD system. You can test each physical activity factor separately or combine modules to evaluate strength and Whole Body Dexterity together for a comprehensive functional assesment.

What makes the SmarTest™ System so usable is its' ease of operation and its' modular design. The system is ready to use, anytime. Simply enter the evaluee’s identification, choose the activity and test is ready to begin. All tests are standardized and easy to understand. Instructions can be repeated and a simple practice session is provided before each trial to make sure the evaluee is comfortable with the activity before testing begins. All assessment activities are immediately scored by the SmarTest™ system and available for print-out on the laser printer included with the system. Performance reports are easy to read and simple to understand. Test performances are compared to either Canadian-NOC or US-DOT physical demands definitions.
SmarTest™'s use of MTM performance standards makes assessment results objective and defendable and uses informed consent instructions to assure safe, reliable and usable data. Optional languages are available and can be changed by simply selecting the desired language on the SmarTest™ computer. SmarTest™ has a number of differnt applications in the assessment function including Fitness for Duty Assessment, Return To Work Testing, Therapy Tracking, Pre-employment Testing, Functional/Work Capacity, Disability Determination and Pathology Documentation.
